— And yes, please wear a helmet. We encourage you to wear pads, and wrist guards or gloves.
As for COVID-19, Delta, Omicron, etc… Follow the city, state, and federal guidelines and mandates. Since we stop at shops and establishments during and after skates, be prepared. Bring a mask etc… if called for.
Once upon a time, the Landskaters had a board, dues, the whole shabang. Times change. Eventually a core group of members created an email list-serve that skaters from around the US and world have joined.
You can join that list now. Use our CONTACT FORM and request to be added to the Landskaters listserv. It’s not automatic. We manually added list members.
We use it to announce events to share news articles.
But most of all, this list is used to update skaters on changes that effect skates. We announce if the streets are dry after a passing storm, or if an event at the Art Museum requires us to group-up somewhere else nearby.
Join this list if you are okay with ignoring emails that you don’t have an interest in because the sometimes the list is busy, while other times it’s only busy on the days skates take place.
MEET US AT THE FOOT OF THE ART MUSEUM STEPS
The Landskaters have a single meet-up location. The Art Museum steps. Unless otherwise stated, find us at the foot of the Philadelphia Art Museum steps every Sunday at 10:00 AM, Saturday at 10:30 AM, TUESDAY at 7:00 PM. Times may change due to city events or weather. This is a good reason, why most join our email listserv.
You can park along Pennsylvania Avenue or nearby side-streets.
Skaters generally roll up just after the posted start time, as we depart approximately 20 minutes after any posted start time.
